BROOKINGS, S.D. – On a day which University of Sioux Falls Track & Field set eight top-10 marks in the program history,
Trey Furgeson highlighted the Cougars' trip to the South Dakota State Invitational on Friday. Furgeson broke the USF men's 600-meter run record while the Cougars 23 top-five finishes, including three first-place marks and a sweep of the pole vault competitions.
A native of Lennox, S.D., Furgeson had started the season off well, closing in on the record he broke Saturday. With a 1:19.86, Furgeson overtakes the top spot in the USF record books from Brady Velersdyk, who set the previous record of 1:20.37 in 2010. Furgeson toppling the school mark is the fifth time that USF has set a new record this year.
In the women's pole vault,

Sheppard recorded best mark of 14.91 meters (48-11.00) for third and
