BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Opening competition at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday, University of Sioux Falls Swimming competed in two prelims, but failed to advance to the night's finals. USF will return to action on Thursday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m.
Ingelin Lima and
Allison Eppinga swam in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing 32nd and 35th respectively. Lima clocked a 23.88-second time in her race and Eppinga turned in a 23.90-second lap.
After an intermission, Eppinga and Lima joined forces with
Brianna Lavelle and
Kyjana Webber for the 200 medley relay, which USF placed 30th in 1:47.94. Eppinga led off with a 27.21-second split in the backstroke, Lavelle swam her breaststroke leg in 31.40 seconds, Lima went 25.87 seconds in the butterfly and Webber posted a 23.46-second split in the anchor freestyle leg.
Eppinga, Lima, Webber and
Maike Doerr will compete tomorrow in the 200 freestyle relay at 10:30 a.m. and they enter with the 12th-fastest seed time.
