Sioux Falls freshman Jazzelena Black competed in the triple jump at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday evening in Pueblo, Colorado. She registered a leap of 11.79 meters (38 feet-8.25 inches) on her first attempt. Black, however, did not qualify for the finals. She finished 19th overall was the final female USF student-athlete to compete at the national meet.
Black also took 12th place in the long jump on Thursday with a mark of 18-7 3/4.
The NCAA Division II championships will conclude on Saturday aat the Neta & Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colorado. Freshmen Jagger Gran and Scott Greenman, the Cougars' last remaining athletes, will compete in the men's pole vault on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. CT.
