Des Moines, IA. – The University of Sioux Falls Track & Field team had athletes competing today in Des Moines. Four Cougars competed at the Kip Janvrin Invite in Indianola, IA which is just south of Des Moines. Six Cougars also competed at the Drake Relays being held at Drake University in Des Moines.
Kip Janvrin Invite
Cassidy O'Meara got the Coo off to a great start by winning the women's 800m. She placed first with a PR of 2:11.96.
Annika Aho also competed in the women's 800m. She ran a solid 2:17.16 to place her in 18th out of 86 total participants.
Caleb Rivera ran a 1:54.34 in the men's 800 to place 16th.
Benjamin Morrison also ran in the men's 800. He placed 31st with a time of 1:55.93
Drake Relays
The USF women's 4X100 relay team finished 9th out of 29 total relay teams competing. They just missed going to finals with a time of 48.48. This relay team consisted of Tamia Horton, Grace Gioffredi, Myah Roggenbuck, and Natalie Meyers.
Kamry Lindsey competed in the women's discus placing 13th. Her best throw of the day was a 44.98m.
Tyler Hiatt is competing in both the men's discus and the men's shot put. Tyler placed 13th in the shot put with a throw of 16.54m. He placed 14th in the men's discus with a throw of 49.25m.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will finish up day 3 of the Drake Relays tomorrow April 29. Then they will go to the USD Tune Up on Friday May 5 in Vermillion, SD.
