SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced their 2024 Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll along with this season's athlete to watch.. Sioux Falls was ranked to finish 4th in the NSIC following a 4th place finish last season.
USF is coming off of a 13-6 season while going 7-4 in conference play during the 2023 season. The Cougars finished one of the best seasons the program has had in the Division II era. Head Coach Kevin Grebin described last year's team having "fantastic heart and energy," throughout the entirety of their season which contributed to their success.
Danielle Thorfinnson, a senior from Glenwood, Minnesota, was named the Cougars player to watch following a successful junior campaign. Thorfinnson finished the 2023 season with a 5-6 overall singles record along with an 8-9 doubles record.
"Danielle brings a wealth of experience and leadership as a three year varsity player along with a positive and supportive attitude. She looks to include all her teammates with activities both on and off the courts that help them improve and contribute to the overall well being of themselves and the USF Tennis team."
