How It Happened
The Cougars matched the Golden Bears stride for stride throughout a tightly contested opening half. Sioux Falls generated six first-half shots, with attempts from Addison Van Zee, Elizabeth Schmidt, and Chloe Wilson forcing CSP goalkeeper Sydney Potter into early saves.
Concordia-St. Paul broke the deadlock in the 36th minute when Sophia Haase found the back of the net, assisted by Lexi Pettit and Nicole Moore, putting the Golden Bears ahead 1-0.
USF continued to push forward in search of an equalizer, outshooting CSP 5-1 in the second half and holding possession for longer stretches. Van Zee and Schmidt each came close to leveling the score, but the Cougars couldn't find the finishing touch as the Golden Bears' defense held firm to close out the match.

Coach's Corner
"Another tight contest where it feels like we left points on the field. We had good spells where we able get forward with speed and sharpness. Sustaining those periods for longer is a step forward that we need to take.
Despite getting into the front third well, we lacked the final ball or final touch to test their goalkeeper more.
Against the ball CSP asked some challenging questions of us at times. We coped with those situations well generally. But winning at this level is often defined by fine margins in moments and one of those instances turned the match in their favor."
-Head Coach Joe DeMay
