Cougar Volleyball Throttles Jimmies on the Road

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team was firing on all cylinders tonight inside Newman Arena as they defeated Jamestown in three sets, 25-22, 25-13, 25-14, to advance to 16-9 on the season and 11-6 in the NSIC. Following the loss, the Jimmies fall to 9-15 on the year and 4-13 in conference play as they close out their home season against No. 16 Southwest Minnesota State tomorrow afternoon. The win marked the Cougars' eighth sweep of the year and improved their record to 16-9 overall and 11-6 in NSIC play.


Match Summary

Sioux Falls was in control from start to finish, posting a .447 team hitting percentage while holding Jamestown to just .163. The Cougars collected 47 assists, 53 kills, and 42 digs in the match, dominating both at the net and from the service line with seven total team blocks.

USF's balance and precision were on full display in the second set, where they hit .571 and sided out at an 85% clip before cruising to victory with a commanding 25-14 closeout frame.

As a team, USF sided out at 76%, recorded seven total blocks, and hit over .360 in all three sets.

The Cougars will close their weekend road trip on Saturday night when they travel to Aberdeen to face No. 22 Northern State in another NSIC matchup. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
