2013-14 (SOPHOMORE): Indoor: Ran a season best time of 18:15.44 in the 5000m run at the Dave Little Alumni Mile…ran the 800m leg on the Distance Medley Relay that finished with a time of 10:53.88 at the MSU Alumni Open…completed the Mile run in 4:53.69 at the MSU Coaches Open…Outdoor: solid showing at the NSIC Outdoor Championships as he ran season best times in the 5000m run (17:34.36) and the 10,000m run (36:17.96). 

2012-13 (FRESHMAN): Indoor- competed in the 5000m run where he set his season best time of 16:34.27 at the NSIC Indoor Championships where he placed 24th overall…also competed in the 3000m run where he ran a season best 9:53.54 at the Dordt Mini Meet…member of the 10th fastest distance medley relay in USF history, anchoring the relay with a 4:52.3 on the mile leg…Outdoor-competed in the 10,000m run where his season best time of 35:30.42 came at the NSIC Outdoor Championships where he finished 20th overall…also competed in the 5000m run at the NSIC Championships where he finished 29th…season best time in the 5000m run came at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays where he ran a 16:58.86.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Parkston (S.D.)…four-year letterwinner in cross country and track…cross country honors included: Positive Attitude Award (2008), team MVP (2009-10) and HERO award (2009-10)…was a four-time state meet qualifier and academic all-state selection in track and cross country…earned Rookie of the Year (2009) and Hustler (2010) awards for his track contributions…also participated in basketball and baseball…demonstrated his love for music as a member of concert band, marching band, jazz band and the pep band all four years of school…extracurricular activites included: Teens on the Road to Chemical Health (2008-12) where he served as president and vice president, NHS (2010-12) which included a stint as vice president and FCA (2008-12)

 

PERSONAL: Son of Walter and Linda Schoenfish…born July 26, 1993…has one sister Jennifer…will major in exercise science at USF…professional goal to become an athletic trainer/strength coach…has participated in several acts of community service with Salem Lutheran Church: worked at local food bank, Chicago mission and fund raising…something unique about David is his passion for music…he plays the piano, guitar, trumpet and euphonium
