Rita Koryukova

Rita Koryukova was named Interim Head Coach on Oct. 23, 2017 by USF Director of Athletics Josh Snyder. Koryukova was elevated from her position as a graduate assistant to lead to team in 2016-17. 

In her first season with the program, Koryukova helped the Cougars qualify five freshmen for the NCAA Championships in the first year of competition for the USF Swimming. The Cougars also earned two All-NSIC honors with Maike Doerr capturing third place in the 200-yard butterfly and USF placing second at the NSIC Championships in the 200 freestyle relay by 0.01 second.
 
A native of Omsk, Russia, Koryukova comes to USF after a stellar swimming career at NCAA Division II Wingate University in Wingate, N.C. She was an eight-time All-American and won three national championships, taking the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard freestyle relay titles in 2016 and the swimming a leg on the 400-yard medley relay championship in 2015.
 
A captain on the national runner-up Wingate women's swimming team, Koryukova gained coaching experience as part of the staff for the Pine Crest Swim Camp and Wingate Aqua Dogs swimming club. She earned her bachelor's degree in finance from Wingate in 2016 and is working on her master's degree at USF.
