Lavell Jackson enters his first year as defensive backs coach on the University of Sioux Falls football staff, after two seasons as an all-conference player for the Cougars.
During his two seasons at USF, Jackson provided an explosive return threat while the Cougars won two national championships. Jackson averaged a league-leading 14.9 yards per punt return, scoring one touchdown, during his senior season. The Harvey, Ill. native also averaged 23.2 yards per kick return and recorded 20 tackles, two pass break-ups, two pass deflections and one sack as a defensive back. Jackson was named a first team All-GPAC selection as a returner.
Prior to USF, Jackson attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he started eight games for the Mavericks.
In the spring of 2010, Jackson graduated from USF with a degree in Communications.
