Connor Stumm is in his first year as the assistant track & field coach for the University of Sioux Falls. Stumm will be in charge of jumps and multi-events.
Stumm, who served as assistant track and field coach at Concordia University-Chicago in 2018-19, will coach jumps and multi-event student-athletes at USF for Petersen. He comes to USF with a strong background. This past year, he was a finalist for the USTFCCCA Women's Assistant Coach of the Year in the Midwest Region as CU-C was ranked No. 15 nationally, had four All-Americans, broke 29 school marks with eight NACC champions and 17 All-NACC Performers.
Prior to working at CU-C, he also served as a graduate assistant at Southwest Minnesota State from August 2017 to October 2018. While at SMSU, he coached and was training supervisor for jumps, multi-events and shorts sprints.
As a student-athlete at Wabash College (Crawfordsville, Ind.) from 2013-17, Stumm was a six-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference performer in the high jump, long jump, heptathlon, decathlon, and 4x100 and 4x200 relays. He was a five-time team NCAC champion and was named USTFCCA All-Great Lakes Region in the heptathlon twice and decathlon once.
Stumm has been an international missionary for two trips to Northern Haiti, Managua, Nicaragua which he worked on construction projects and help with food distribution. In Nicaragua, he led musical worship in Spanish at five church. In addition, he was the recipient of the 2015 Montgomery County Character Counts Award for pursuing victory with honor.
