Bob Young Field
Bob Young Field is home to USF Football and Soccer programs.
With a seating capacity of over 5,000, Bob Young Field has been the home to Cougar Football since 2007 and to Cougar Soccer since 2022. Over the years, it has undergone significant upgrades, including the installation of cutting-edge turf and modern amenities.
In 2010, Bob Young Field earned it's name in honor of legendary USF Hall of Fame coach, Bob Young. Along with the naming of Bob Young Field, the press box and donor suites were completed, offering premium amenities for media, sponsors and other VIP guests.
In 2016, the field received a major upgrade with the installation of AstroTurf® 3D, a renewable and eco-friendly product. The turf incorporates BioCel™ soy-based polyurethane backing, replacing a large portion of petro-based materials with renewable soy oil. This innovation extends the turf's life, reduces reliance on foreign oil, and supports American farmers. Manufactured by AstroTurf, LLC, the field represents a commitment to sustainability and performance.
In 2021 & 2022, the stadium was equipped with a state-of-the-art automated HUDL camera, enhancing game analysis and live streaming capabilities as well as a premium 25-foot x 13-foot DakTronics videoboard.
In 2023, Bob Young Field experience a facelift with new signage throughout the stadium and press box.
In April 2026, USF began a resurfacing project at Bob Young Field, bringing a fresh look to the home of Cougar Football. Completed by MidAmerica Sports Construction, the project incorporated USF's new athletics logo and updated branding into a fully branded playing surface, giving Bob Young Field a refreshed identity that showcases Cougar pride throughout the facility.
