The University of Sioux Falls women's golf team competed in the Holiday Inn & Suites Lake Elmo Invite this weekend, coming away with an 11th place team finish.
USF junior Tavia Rutherford led the way for the Cougars, finishing in a tie for 7th place after shooting a total score of 157. Rutherford scored an opening round 80 and was sitting in a tie for 12th heading into day two. After shooting a second round of 77, she was able to propel herself into the top ten.
The Cougars Kelsey Leif rebounded from a difficult first day to shoot an 83 on day two. Leif would finish the tournament in a tie for 60th place.
Mikaela Theobald had an impressive opening round performance shooting an 83, but shot a 98 on day two to finish tied for 66th overall.
The Cougars will compete next at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D.
