Leif leads USF Women's Golf to third place finish

USF Women's Golf Competes in Sioux Falls

The Sioux Falls women's golf team finished 8th out of eight teams at the South Dakota State University Fall Invitational. The Cougars shot a combined 1042 (+190) at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls.

Tavia Rutherford led the way for USF by tying for 17th place. Rutherford shot a combined score of 245 (+32) and her best round of the tournament came on the second day of the tournament where she shot an 81.

Mikaela Theobald rebounded from a difficult first day by shooting an 84 in her last round of the tournament. Theobald would finish the tournament with a score of 264 which placed her 41st overall.

Davee Johnson (265, +52), Kelsey Leif (265, +55) and Natalie Turner (282, +69) rounded out the Cougars scorecard.

South Dakota State University took the team title with a score of 950 (+98) and they were followed by North Dakota State University who compiled a score of 961 (+109).

The women's golf team will compete next at the NSIC Fall Championships in Brainerd, Minn. beginning Saturday, October 5.
