Cougars Open Up Spring Golf Season

The USF women's golf team competed in the Holiday Inn MWSU Invite in St. Joseph, Mo. at the St. Joseph Country Club on Sunday. The team came away with a 14th place finish with their combined score of 372 (+84) after the second round of the invite was cancelled on Monday.

Arkansas Tech ran away with the team title with their score of 311 (+23) which bested the second place team by over ten strokes.

The Cougars were led by Tavia Rutherford who finished in a tie for 14th overall with her one round score of 83 (+11).

Following Rutherford was Mikaela Theobald who shot an 89 (+17) on her way to tying for 40th place.

Kelsey Leif (98/+26) and Tia Nihart (102/+30) were the next two Cougars to finish as they placed 73rd and 77th respectively.

Audrey Kieliszewski rounded out the Cougars players as she finished 81st with her score of 114 (+42).

Next up the Cougars will head to Omaha, Neb. where they will take place in the Tiburon Invitational on March 30. The invite will be held at Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha.
