BEMIDJI, Minn. - Sioux Falls Women's Basketball Associate Head Coach Chelsea DeVille has stepped down from her position to take over as the head coach for Bemidji State University's women's basketball program.
“I am beyond excited and thankful for the opportunity to be the Head Coach at Bemidji State,” Deville said. “More than anything I am so thankful for my time here at USF and especially Coach (Travis)Traphagen. He has been such an influence on my career and has helped prepared me for this next endeavor.”
DeVille joined the USF staff in 2009 as a graduate assistant before moving onto a full-time assistant coach role for the 2010-11 season and most recently was appointed to associate head coach before this last season. With DeVille on staff, the Cougars posted a 111-65 record, most recently finishing with a 17-10 record in just their third year at Division II.
“Words cannot express how thrilled I am about this opportunity for Chelsea,” USF Women's Basketball Head Coach Travis Traphagen said. “For her to get a head coaching position at 29 years old, it's a testament of her work ethic and her knowledge of the game. Since she joined our staff six years ago, she has been a staple for USF Women's Basketball.”
Located, in Sioux Falls, S.D., University of Sioux Falls is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
