SPRINGFIELD, MO. – Led by a fifth place finish by
Lexi Hanson, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team is 10
th after day one of the Central Region Preview which opened Monday at the Rivercut Golf Course. The final round will begin at 8:30 am on Tuesday with a shotgun start.
Hanson carded a first round total of 74, which placed her in a tied for fifth. It was the fifth time this season that Hanson shot a 75 or better round. With Hanson, who shot five shots better than her per round average of 79.23, standout first day, USF finished at 322 for 10
th. The Cougars are just three shots away from eighth place in the highly competitive team field.
USF has the top score among four NSIC schools. Minnesota State is 11
th at 324 and followed by Concordia St. Paul at 12
th with a 325 and Upper Iowa, 14
th, at 330. Led by individual leader Evelyn Arguelles, who carded a round of 69, Dallas Baptist sits at the top of the team standings with a 296. Northeastern State is second at 301 and SW Oklahoma and Central Oklahoma are tied for tied at 304.
Aside from Hanson, USF had a strong performance from
Alex Nutter is tied for 11
th after she carded a 75. Also for USF, sophomore
Sydney Hubbard is tied for 68
th with a first round total of 85. Tied for 79
th is sophomore
Kyleigh Moran, who carded an 88 on the opening day of the meet. In a tie for 84th is sophomore
Lexi Jonas who carded an 89.
