Alex Nutter, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team is second in the team standings after day one of the Augustana Invitational which opened today at the Elmwood Golf Course.
USF opened the meet by carding a 313 and sit just one shot behind leader Augustana at 312. In third place is Northwest Missouri State with a 316 and they are followed by Southwest Minnesota State at 327 and Minot State at 331.
Hanson, who earlier this week earned her fourth NSIC Golfer of the Week honor after recording a program-best round (67) and two-round total (141) at the MIAA Invite, was one of three USF golfers to open the tournament with a 78. Jonas, who is coming off her career-best performance at the MIAA Invite (74-74-148), and Nutter also carded scores of 78. All three golfers are tied for fourth among individuals. Also for USF, junior
Sydney Hubbard carded a 79 and is tied for seventh at the invite. In addition, freshman
Annie Balduzzi opened with an 86 and is tied for 32nd.
Four USF golfers played as individuals today. Freshman
Maggie Veenendall carded another solid round as she is tied for seventh with a 79. Junior
Kyleigh Moran is tied for 26th after shooting a round of 84 while freshman
Maddi Hanson is tied for 29th with an 85 and senior
Taylor Sudenga is 56th after opening the invite with a 95.
The tournament will conclude on Sunday at the Elmwood GC.
