SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls Tennis Team (3-1, 3-1 NSIC) dropped a 7-0 decision to Winona State (3-1, 3-1 NSIC) in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Sunday (Feb. 16) at the Huether Family Match Pointe.
Winona State bounced back from a 6-1 loss to Augustana on Saturday by taking all six singles matches and also sweeping the doubles competition. At No. 2 singles,
Megan Quandt split the first two sets before losing a tiebreaker, 12-10. At No. 1 doubles,
Chloe Jefferies and
Joelle Thorfinnson lost a close match to Beth Murman and Kaisey Skibba.
"We had too many unforced errors on big points and started slow in both singles and doubles," said USF Head Coach
Kevin Grebin. "Megan (Quandt) had a solid performance but lost a tough tiebreaker. We will bounce back and get prepared for next week," added Grebin, whose team will face St. Cloud State on Friday, Feb. 21 at 5 pm and Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 10 am in Sartell, Minn.
