BURNSVILLE, Minn. – For the fifth time in her career and second time in 2019-20,
Lexi Hanson of the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team, who captured her second-ever individual title at the
Warrior Vegas Invite on March 9-10, has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Athlete of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Thursday.

Hanson, a two-time all-region and
All-NSIC performer, carded a 145 (77-68) with rounds of 77 and 68 to win the Warrior Vegas Invite this week. The 145 two-round total was Hanson's second best of her career and in program history. With a 68, she carded the best round of the tournament and her second best round of the season and her career. She had a 67 on day two of the
MIAA Preview last fall (Sept. 24-25) when she won her first career tourney with a 141 (74-67).
With Hanson leading the way, USF finished at 642 (332-310) for second place at the Warrior Vegas Invite. USF, which has finished in the top two at four tourneys this year, shaved 22 shots off its first round total to finish behind Minot State at 629 (330-299). In fact, six of the nine USF golfers, including Hanson, had better rounds on day two.
Along with Hanson's four
NSIC weekly honors, USF Women's Golf now has had nine student-athletes earn
NSIC Golfer of the Week honors.
Kami Love, was honored on March 21, 2017 and Hanson earned the honor on March 14, 2017 as well on Sept. 6, 2018, Sept. 27, 2019, March 14, 2019 and March 12, 2020 while
Lexi Jonas was honored Oct. 2, 2019 while
Alex Nutter was honored April 10, 2019 . They join current
Head Coach Tavia Rutherford, who was selected on Sept. 17, 2014 while a member of the USF Women's Team.
The USF Women's Team will play next at the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational on March 22-23 at the Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar, Mo.
