BISMARCK, N.D. – In one of its biggest wins in recent memory, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Tennis Team (4-3, 4-2 NSIC) upset previously unbeaten Minnesota State Moorhead (7-1, 6-1 NSIC), 5-2, in Bismarck, N.D., on Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, the Cougars earned its fourth league win in six matches and won its fourth in five decisions. The Cougars ended a four-match losing streak against MSUM and won for the fourth nine in nine all-time decisions against the Dragons. For complete results,

In an emotional and hard fought victory, the Cougars had wins in five-of-six singles matches after dropping the doubles point. It left USF Head Coach
Kevin Grebin exceptionally pleased with his team's complete performance.
"Sometimes, you just have everything come together for you as a team," said Grebin, whose squad played without normal No. 2 singles freshman
Talia Janos. "But this team showed great support for each other. They had such a great effort today. We showed so much heart and determination. It is truly a fantastic group that likes to play this game and do so in support of each other," added Grebin, whose team will face U-Mary on Sunday at 1 pm in Bismarck, N.D.
In singles play, senior
Megan Quandt improved to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in league play with her straight set win of 6-4, 6-2 over MSUM's No. 1 Julia Geske.

Lexi Miller moved up to No. 2 singles and moved to 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC with a hard fought, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) decision against Rachel Nguyen.

Joelle Thorfinnson also showed great heart as she won a three-set victory over Mikaela Griechen, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 as she moved to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in the NSIC this year.
At No. 4 singles, USF had a win as
Danielle Thorfinnson won a straight set victory of 6-3, 6-1 over Miranda Griechen, as she is now 3-3 overall and 3-2 in the NSIC in her freshman season at USF.
At No. 5 singles, senior
Rachel Klatt dropped a tough decision but battled to the end. She dropped a 6-4, 0-6, 2-10 decision to Emma Anderson.

Victoria Ambrosio-Cueto came through at No. 6 singles for her second straight singles victory. She defeated Madison Bell, 6-2, 6-4.
