SIOUX FALLS – Led by
Lexi Hanson, who is tied for the overall individual lead, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team leads the Augustana Spring Invite after completion of round one on Saturday (April 17) at the Elmwood Golf Course.
The Cougars, which are playing their final regular season tourney before the NSIC Championships on April 23-25 in Morton, Minn., own a two-shot lead over host school Augustana after carding an 18-over par round of 306. Augustana is 20-over par 308 with Upper Iowa in third with a 31-over par 319. The final round of the Augustana Spring Invite will be held on Sunday with tee times set for 9 am.
Hanson, a two-time all-region and All-NSIC performer, opened with a one-over par 73, which is tied with Molly Stevens of Augustana.
USF took the lead with four players in the top-22, including three in the top four. Senior
Sydney Hubbard and the reigning NSIC Golfer of the Week sophomore
Maggie Veenendall both opened with a four-over par 76 rounds.
Senior
Kyleigh Moran is nine-over par 81 and is tied for 22
nd. Also for USF senior
Lexi Jonas opened with 13-over par 85 and she is tied for 42
nd.
Playing as an individual, junior
Marisa Weeks had a three-over par 75 which places her third. Sophomore
Annie Balduzzi is also playing as an individual and with a nine-over par 81 is tied for 22
nd.

nd after carding a 13-over par 85.
