SIOUX FALLS – Led by individual medalist
Lexi Hanson, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team won the team title at the Augustana Spring Invite which concluded on Sunday at the Elmwood Golf Course.
The Cougars, which concluded their regular season by winning the title, will next play at the NSIC Championships on April 23-25 in Morton, Minn. USF finished at 36-over par 612 (306-306) and one shot ahead of host school Augustana at 37-over par 613 (308-305). Minnesota State was third at 650 (320-330). With the title, USF has finished in the top five in four of the past five tournaments this spring. It is USF's first title of year but the team won a crown in fall of 2019 at the Augustana Fall Invite in their last outing at Elmwood GC in Sioux Falls.
Hanson, a two-time NCAA DII All-Region and two-time All-NSIC honoree, finished at four-over par 148 (73-75) and one shot ahead of Molly Stevens of Augustana, who carded a 149 (73-76). Hanson recorded her best mark of the season with the four-over par 148 and won her third career title.
Sophomore
Maggie Veenendall, the reigning NSIC Golfer of the Week, finished third at seven-over par 151 (76-75), which tied her career-best effort in September 2019 when she had a 151 (75-76).
In fourth place at the tournament was
Sydney Hubbard at 10-over par 154 (76-78), who carded her season-best total and tied her best total score ever. She had a 154 (76-78) at the Central Regional Fall Preview in September of 2019.
Senior
Kyleigh Moran finished at 13
th, a jump of nine spots on the leader board with a 15-over par 159 (81-78). Moran finished just off her career best of 158 at the Augustana Invite in 2019 and had her best performance of the season.
Also for USF senior
Lexi Jonas finished at 22-over par 166 (85-81), which was her second best showing as she moved up 12 spots to finish 30
th. All five USF scoring team members placed in the top 30.
Playing as an individual, junior
Marisa Weeks carded a 12-over par 156 (75-81) and finished in a tie for seventh place as she had her best effort at USF.
Sophomore
Annie Balduzzi also played as an individual and with a 20-over par 164 (81-83) was tied for 22

Maddi Hanson, who was tied for 62
nd finished at 33-over par 177 (85-92) with her best performance of the season and second best overall at USF.
