SIOUX FALLS - The University of Sioux Falls Swimming team defeated Augustana University 137-125 during Senior Day on Friday night.

After a two month hiatus, the Cougars returned to the pool on January 14th to take on Augustana University during a joint Senior Day meet.

USF took victories in 10 of the 16 events with seniors Elizabeth Spaans, Sydnie Saddoris, Samantha Mullvain, and Giulia Fazza Marcon being honored prior to the meet.

Domenica Solano and Ilinde du Plessis won two individual events with Solano also part of a winning relay and du Plessis on two winning relays. Ursula Demarquet also won two events and was part of two winning relays. Inte Pas and Valerie Childs each won an individual event with Pas part of one relay victory and Childs part of two.

"It's always hard to come back in the new year and race," said USF Head Coach Chris Hamstra, "This was our first competition in two months. After a week of heard training, the ladies came out and raced hard. What a great day!"
