DENVER – The (5-2) USF men's basketball team finished the weekend 2-0 with a 73-60 victory over Regis University tonight.
WHAT HAPPENED
· The Cougars battled through four lead changes in the first half to take a 34-32 lead at the half.
· Sioux Falls saw their biggest lead in the second half with a jumper by Jake Kettner to put the Coo up 64-45 with 8:34 left to play.
· USF picked up 15 points off of 14 Ranger turnovers while picking up 32 points in the paint and 29 off the bench.
SIOUX FALLS LEADERS
· Matt Cartwright paved the way with 24 points on the night while picking up his sixth 20-point game of the season and 18th of his career.
· Conner Jackson and Jack Cartwright picked up 14 points on the day as Jackson picked up a career high for the Cougars and a season high for J. Cartwright.
· Chase Grinde pulled down 12 rebounds on the night for the Coo while dishing out five assists.
TEAM STATISTICS
· The Cougars finish the week 2-0 following tonights victory while shooting 49.1% from the field, 37.5% from three point territory and 66.7% from the free throw line.
· Sioux Falls outrebounded Regis 37-27 while pulling down 29 defensive rebounds and eight on the offensive side of the ball.
UP NEXT
Sioux Falls (5-2) will make their way back to South Dakota to prepare for their home conference opener against Wayne State this Thursday. The women's team will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
