Ames, IA – After the first day of competition at the Jimmie Spring Swing tournament, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf team holds the top spot. The Cougars hold the top three individual places with
Paige Hillman in front.
After 18 holes the USF Women's Golf team leads the tournament with a 52-over par 336. The University of Jamestown sits 23 strokes behind in second while fellow NSIC member Bemidji State University holds third at 30-over par.
The Cougars crushed the competition all day and own 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place individually. Hillman continues her strong freshman campaign as she sits four-over with a 75 after carding two birdies and 11 pars. The freshman holds the lead by six whole strokes with
Annie Balduzzi in 2nd at 10-over 81 made up of nine pars on the day.
Maddi Hanson holds 3rd place with her six pars and a birdie that carded her a 13-over 84.
Ashley Tackett holds USF's final scoring spot with her 25-over 96 that includes two birdies while USF's remaining golfer,
Savannah Vincent has carded three birdies en route to a 29-over 100.
