In regular season finale, USF Tennis falls at No. 20 Augustana

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Tennis Team (10-9, 5-6 NSIC) dropped a 7-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference decision to No. 20 Augustana (18-1, 11-0 NSIC) on Monday afternoon at the Huether Tennis Centre as the regular season drew to a close.

Both USF, which will be seeded No. 7 and Augustana, the No. 1 seed, have advanced to the NSIC Postseason Tennis Tourney on April 22-24 at the Huether Family Match Pointe. The Cougars will face No. 2 seed Winona State. USF concluded the regular season at 10-9 and 5-6 in the NSIC. It is the third time in the DII era that USF has posted double-digit wins in a season.

Against Augustana, the Cougars played hard and had a strong effort, said USF Head Coach Kevin Grebin. "Even though we were a bit shorthanded, everyone stepped up and played hard and I think really well," he said. "The effort has been extraordinary all season for this group. I am really proud of how tough, resilient and focused we have been all year," he said.
