
BURNSVILLE, MINN. –
Maggie Veenendall of the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team has been named to the First Team on the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Golf Team, which was announced today (Sunday, April 24) as the league championships wrapped up.
It is the second straight All-NSIC honor for Veenendall, who was named first team a year ago when she was also the NSIC Newcomer of the Year.
This year, Veenendall, a New Richmond, Wisc., standout, led USF to an eighth-place team finish as she finished tied for 12
th overall at 33 over par 249 (84-84-81) at the tourney which was held at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri. A year ago at the league championships, Veenendall was tied for 10
th (27-over par, 243 – 81-82-80).
Veenendall, a biology major, finished with a team-best 78.67 per round average in 2022, a mark that was fourth best in the NSIC. In 18 rounds in 2021-22, she had 1,416 strokes with a low round of 70 (2-under par, 2021 Watkins Invitational, Oct. 5, 2021).
In fact, Veenendall had USF's top four rounds, won the Augustana Invite last fall, and had three top-five as well as five top-10 finishes. In winning the Augustana Invite last fall she carded a 4-over par 148 (77-71). This season, she had 10 rounds of sub-80 and six other rounds of 76 or lower.
In her career, she now has nine top-20 finishes, seven top-10 results and twice and has been named NSIC Golfer of the Week twice. A year ago, she was the first sophomore named First Team All-NSIC since USF standout Tavia Rutherford in 2013.
