SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – USF Swimming hosted Augustana, MSU Moorhead and Northern State for senior day on the final day of the USF Invite. Cougars defeated Northern State 157.00-50.00 and MSU Moorhead 151.00-66.00 and fell to Augustana 124.00-97.00.
Domenica Solano Ocampo, Inte Pas, Phini Schumacher and Valerie Childs make up the 'A' relay team and picked up a second place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:46.96.
Alessia Moro secured a first place finish and claimed the USF school record in the 1000 freestyle with a time B cut time of 10:20.25 with Weronika Mrozek coming in second with a time of 10:58.05.
Valerie Childs also recorded a B cut time of 1:52.98 and a first place finish on the day.
Inn She Yap picked up a third place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.01 for the Coo.
Emily Aten recorded a time of 4:40.98 along with a first place finish in the 400IM followed by Emily Groom in third with a time of 4:46.53.
Phini Schumacher finished with a time of 2:10.22 in the 200 butterfly securing a first place finish. Childs followed up with a third place finish and a time of 2:10.78.
Demarquet-Alban picked up second place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.38 with Yap close behind in fourth with a time of 55.56.
Solano Ocampo finished with a time of 2:08.39 and second place finish in the 200 yard backstroke.
USF held the top two finishes in the 500 yard freestyle with Alessia Moro clocking in with a new personal best of 5:08.55 followed by Sarah Knox with a time of 5:23.69.
Pas finished the 200 yard breaststroke in second place with a time of 2:28.08 followed by Aten in third with a time of 2:30.32.
Sioux Falls' 'A' team placed second in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:33.77, just .3 seconds out of the top spot.
USF swept the distance events today while also celebrating four seniors that swam their last home meet for the Coo. The Cougars honored Valerie Childs, Ursula Demarquet-Alban, Abby Ford and Domenica Solano Ocampo.
Sioux Falls will be back in action on November 3-4 at the Midco Aquatic Center as they compete in the Coyote Extravaganza hosted by the University of South Dakota.
