USF Women's Golf Inks Six on National Signing Day

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls and head coach Wade Merry are proud to announce the addition of six individuals to the 2024-25 women's golf roster.

 

"I'm really excited that these six young women are joining our golf program," stated Merry. "They are all extremely talented, have been very successful on the golf course and are excellent students. They will represent our university extremely well, on and off the golf course."

 

Cecelia VanDenTop, Sioux Falls Christian

A local star, Cecelia is joining the Cougars and staying home in Sioux Falls. Cecelia comes to USF from Sioux Falls Christian where she played golf and volleyball for the Chargers. On the golf course Cecelia won three State Team Championships and Regional Championships for Class A. She was also named to the All-State Tournament Team. Cecelia's 18-hole average is 87, with a handicap of 10.4. She also competed for the Sanford Golf Academy. The daughter of Jaci and Jason, Cecelia plans to major in business at USF. 

 

Quinn Dannenbring, Mitchell High School

Quinn comes to USF from Mitchell, South Dakota where she attended Mitchell High School and played golf for the Kernels. In 2023 Quinn helped lead the Kernels to a State Championship, and was named to the All-Tournament Team. She placed fourth overall at the State Tournament with a score of 72. Quinn's 18-hole average is 78. The daughter of McKinsey and Brett, she plans to major in political science and minor in history. 

 

Delilah Fuls, Brookings High School 

Delilah joins the Cougars from Brookings, South Dakota where she attended Brookings High School. During her time with the Bobcats, Delilah competed in gymnastics, competitive cheer, and golf. In all three sports she was named an Athletic Scholar from 2020-2023. On the golf course she was a three-time MVP. Delilah was named to the All-Conference Team in 2023. In 2021 and 2023, she placed in the top 10 at the State Championships. Delilah's 18-hole average is 74, with a handicap of 7.6. She also competed for the Sanford Golf Academy. The daughter of Cassie and Jeff, Delilah intends to study radiology at USF. 

 

Abigail Voeller, Fargo Davies High School

Abby comes to USF from Fargo, North Dakota where she attended Fargo Davies High School. During her time as an Eagle, Abby played golf, hockey, and soccer. In 2021 and 2022 she helped lead the Eagles to the Eastern Dakota Conference Championships. In 2021, her team won the North Dakota State Championship. In 2023, Abby tied for 11th at the State Tournament and was named to the All-Conference and All-Region Teams. Also in 2023, Abby was one of four scorers that combined to set a school scoring record of 299. Abby ended the 2023 season with an average of 82, and a low round of 78. The daughter of Shannon and Darrin, she plans to major in business. 

 

Avery Nelson, Chaska High School 

Avery joins the Cougars from Chaska, Minnesota where she attended Chaska High School. During her time with the Hawks, Avery played golf and tennis. She was named to the Metro West All-Conference First Team as a freshmen, sophomore, and junior. As a junior, Avery placed third at the Conference Tournament. She was also a three-year captain for the Hawk's women's golf team. In 2023, Avery was ranked 12th in Class AAA All-State Rankings. She also competed for MN Junior PGA. The daughter of Heather and Darin, Avery plans to major in business at USF. 

 

Sophia Karsnia, Brainerd High School

Sophia comes to USF from Baxter, Minnesota where she attended Brainerd High School. During her time with the Warriors, Sophia played golf, tennis, volleyball, and alpine skiing. On the golf course she was a two-time JRPGA 4 Ball Champion. In 2023, Sophia made it to the final four of the MN JRPGA Match. Also in 2023, she placed fourth out of 98 girls in the players tour rank. Sophia tied for sixth out of 64 girls at the MGA State Junior Girls Championship in Hastings, Minnesota. The daughter of Brigitt and Doug, she intends to take a pre-dental track at USF.
