Women's Wrestling Adds Osing and Peterson to Inaugural Season Coaching Staff

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls women's wrestling program is excited to announce the addition of Griffin Osing and Chase Peterson to their coaching staff.

"Coach Osing brings a valuable NCAA background to the room, recruiting and student/athlete experience for USF Women's Wrestling in preparation to its inaugural season in 2023-2024," stated head coach Toby Bryant. "Coach Osing's passion, drive and experiences sets him apart to engage in the timing of pioneering Women's Wrestling in the Midwest."Griffin Osing

Osing comes to USF as the first assistant coach in program history following a two-year stint as the head assistant coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Prior to Moorhead, he spent two seasons as a GA for the Northern State wrestling team in Aberdeen, SD. Prior to his coaching career, Osing was a three-time NWCA Academic All-American as well as a three-time NSIC All-Academic team member at Southwest Minnesota State. During his senior campaign, Osing qualified for the 2019 NCAA tournament at the 184 pound weight class. In 2019, Osing earned his degree in physical education and teaching from SMSU followed by his masters from NSU in sport performance and leadership in 2021.

"Coach Peterson brings valuable experience from the Freestyle teachings when starting a program from the grass roots. He has a communication style and on the mat IQ that brings out the best in his students and athletes," said Coach Bryant. "His outstanding creativity will advance our program on and off the mat. Coach Peterson is what USF Women's Wrestling is looking for from day one."

Chase PetersonPeterson joins the Coo as a volunteer assistant coach following his collegiate career at Augustana University, Sierra College and Northwestern College. He is a three-time letter winner as well as a three-time conference medalist and California Community College State Qualifier. Peterson brings over 15 years of folk style wrestling experience along with 10 years of freestyle knowledge. He graduated from Northwestern College with a degree in graphic design and currently resides in Sioux Falls with his wife where they own and operate BRASE Images.

Both Osing and Peterson will begin their tenures on July 1, 2023.
