BLUE SPRINGS - The USF Women's Golf team kicked off the season by immediately besting all round scores from 2022-23 with their first round of the year.

The Cougars entered the Central Region Fall Preview with a completely new top-5 from last season and high hopes for the year. The very first round of the season closed as a resounding success for USF as they totaled their first sub-320 mark since 2021-22. The team of Maggie Veenendall, Tanna Phares, Bryn Huber, Abbie Ritzer, and Ayla McDonald posted a 319 in the first round. Veenendall returned from injury after missing all of last season and instantly proved once again why she is one of the top golfers in the NSIC. The rest of the team is made of of true freshmen who Head Coach Wade Merry had high hopes for and they certainly delivered in round one. Round 1 closes with the Coo in 12th and round 2 tomorrow morning!
