SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - USF Women's Wrestling shutout the Cornell College Rams 48-0 today to advance to 2-0 in dual matchups. The Cougars recorded five pins over the Rams with no match going longer than 2-minutes.
Kyla Schwager picked up the forfeit at 103-pounds while Cornell was open.
At 110-pounds, Ava McNeal defeated Milar Little with a 0:49 pin. McNeal opened the match with two pushouts before recording a 2-point takedown and exposure points. McNeal advances to 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in duals.
Rei Ogden added a 1:03 pin over Cheyenne Mulford at 117-pounds. Ogden picked up a 2-point takedown followed by exposure points before closing out the match to advance to 11-5 on the season and 1-0 in dual settings.
Teila Peters took the win over Addison Thrash at 124-pounds with a 10-0 tech fall in just 1:08. Peters showed off her technical skills with a 2-point takedown and 8-points in exposure. Peters advances to 7-6 on the year and 1-0 in dual matchups.
At 133-pounds, Mackenzie Armagost defeated Kyla Andrew with the fastest pin of the dual in 0:37. Armagost opened the match with a 1-point pushout followed by a big 4-point throw before advancing to 7-7 on the season and 1-0 in duals.
Diann Smith claimed the 138-pound match with a 1:50 pin over Ciara Gomez-Bryant. Smith opened the match with a big 4-point throw before battling back to land a 2-point toss to get the win. Smith is 6-6 on the year and 2-0 in dual settings.
Ciana Grate picked up the forfeit at 145-pounds for The Coo as Cornell was open.
At 160-pounds, Kylie Hulse defeated Sydney Newberg in a 1:50, 12-0 tech fall. Hulse had three, 4-point throws through the match and advances to 9-2 on the year and 2-0 in duals.
Maizy Mathis closed out the dual with a 1:15 pin over Emma Stevenson at 180-pounds. Mathis landed a 4-point toss before calling match to move to 4-4 on the season and 1-0 in dual matchups.
Zoe Adam claimed the forfeit at 207-pounds for USF as Cornell was open.
Paige Denke and Addaly Pals-Miller wrestled extra matches following todays dual. Denke secured a quick 0:43, 10-0 tech fall over Ava Garcia at 124-pounds before Pals-Miller finished with some big 4-point throws and a 0:33 pin over Kaylynn Sparks at 160-pounds.
