SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - USF Women's Wrestling hosted their final home dual of the season falling to Chadron State 30-15. USF finishes their dual season 6-3.
At 101-pounds, Ava McNeal fell to Britley Lopez. McNeal ended the first period with a 4-2 lead followed by a point in the second period but unfortunately go stuck in a 5:01 pin. McNeal is now 13-6 on the season.
Paw Hobza was defeated by Mana Chanthasone in a 2:40 tech fall and moves to 12-10 on the year.
Paige Denke picked up the first win of the day for the Coo by defeating Cassandra Witte in a 10-0 tech fall. Denke advances to 12-4 on the year.
Teila Peters picked up a quick 1:07 tech fall over Shania Wear with a final match score of 11-0. Peters is now 18-10.
At 136-pounds, McKenna Hendrickson went the distance with Annika Lee of Chadron State, but fell in an 11-3 decision. Hendrickson is now 11-13 on the year.
Brinley Green battled Karstin Hollen at 143-pounds going the distance, but falling in a tough last minute 16-8 decision. Green is now 17-10 on the season.
Ciana Grate fell to Emma Meadows in a 2:47 fall at 155-pounds to end the night. Grate is now 10-11 on the year.
USF will hit the road to compete in the Warrior Open in Fremont, Nebraska tomorrow, February 10, before competing in the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships Regional Tournament. Sioux Falls will compete in Denton, Texas on Sunday, February 25 for a spot in the National Championships.
