CHADRON, NEB. - USF Women's Wrestling took headed west to take on the Chadron Eagles tonight coming away with a 28-20 victory to advance to a 6-0 dual season record.
Chadron State was open at 131- and 160-pounds allowing Teila Peters and Maizy Mathis to pick up the forfeit wins.
At 103-pounds, Ava McNeal fell to Brianna Vollendroff in a 0:39, 10-0 tech fall. McNeal moves to 6-3 on the season and 5-1 in dual matchups.
At 110-pounds, Paw Hobza took on Rylee Balcazar falling in a 1:41 pin. Hobza falls to 4-5 on the season and 3-1 in duals.
Rei Ogden defeated Shania Wear at 117-pounds to give The Coo their first win of the night. Ogden opened the match with a takedown before landing a big 4-point throw to finish with a 1:10 pin to advance to 14-5 on the year and 5-0 in dual settings.
Paige Denke took on Maddox Gehlhausen at 124-pounds. After falling behind 6-0, Denke responded with a takedown and exposure points before landing her final takedown and sealing the deal with a 1:17 pin. Denke advances to 5-6 on the year and 3-0 in dual settings.
At 138-pounds, Mackenzie Armagost took on Hattie Baldwin. With an opening 1-point pushout and takedown for a 3-0 lead, Baldwin battled back with a 4-point toss before Aramgost landed her own 4-point throw and a reversal to end the period tied at eight apiece. Following the break, Armagost came out swinging with 10 unanswered points for a 5:05, 18-8 tech fall victory advancing to 11-7 on the season and 5-0 in dual matchups.
At 145-pounds, Ciana Grate fell to Karstin Hollen in a 1:15 pin. Grate moves to 7-9 and 3-3 in duals for The Coo.
At 180-pounds, Kylie Hulse took on Sicily Frates. Hulse opened the match with a statement 4-point throw followed by exposure points and another takedown to take an early 8-0 lead at the end of the first period. Hulse closed out the second period with a takedown to snag the 4:49, 10-0 tech fall advancing to 10-5 on the year and 3-3 in duals.
Zoe Adam fell to Esther Peters at 207-pounds in a 2:10 pin. Adam moves to 8-6 on the season and 4-1 in duals.
