SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - USF Women's Wrestling fell in their final dual of the season, 29-16 to 11th ranked Fort Hays State. The Cougars finish their 2024-25 dual season 6-1 before heading into their final two opens of the season.
The Tigers were open at 124-pounds as senior Paige Denke accepted the forfeit.
Starting off at 103-pounds, Ava McNeal fell to Hannah Selle in a 3:57, 11-0 tech fall. McNeal moves to 6-4 on the season and finishes 5-2 in dual matchups.
At 110-pounds, Paw Hobza took on Josiah Ortiz falling in a 2:41 pin. Hobza falls to 4-6 on the season and finishes 3-2 in duals.
Rei Ogden went the distance with Isabell Ortiz at 117-pounds but ultimately fell in an 8-6 decision. Ogden moves to 14-6 on the year and finishes 5-1 in dual settings.
At 131-pounds, Mackenzie Armagost fell to #13 Piper Cadden in a 0:26, 10-0 tech fall to move to 11-8 on the season and finishes 5-1 in dual matchups.
Diann Smith fell to #16 Ashlynn Goodwin in a 2:02, 10-0 tech fall at 138-pounds. Smith moves to 7-8 on the season and finishes 3-2 in duals.
At 145-pounds, Ciana Grate fell to #12 Nichole Moore in a 2:48, 10-0 tech fall. Grate moves to 7-10 and finishes 3-4 in duals for The Coo.
Kylie Hulse defeated Josie Houk at 160-pounds in a 5:29 pin. Hulse scored first with a takedown in the first period and another to open up the second, but after giving up a takedown Hulse called match with her third takedown leading to a pin. Hulse advances to 11-5 on the year and finished the season 4-3 in duals.
Maizy Mathis wrestled up at 180-pounds, but after a quick start Mathis found herself stuck in a 1:55 fall to #20 Isabella Renfro. Mathis moves to 7-7 on the year and finishes 4-3 in dual matchups.
Zoe Adam defeated Hailey Conley at 207-pounds in a 4:40 pin. Adam received a passivity point in the in the first period before giving up a passivity point in the second and landing a takedown for a 3-1 lead. Adam closed out the night with a big 4-point throw landing Conley on her back to advance to 9-6 on the season and finish 5-1 in duals.

USF will hit the road to Des Moines, Iowa to compete in the Grand View Open on Saturday, February 1st. Matches are scheduled to begin at 9am.
