SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls Swimming team battled across the board tonight in a cross-town dual against Augustana, posting multiple event wins and season-best performances despite falling 179–93 to the Vikings at the Midco Aquatic Center
Meet Highlights
The Cougars opened the evening strong with a runner-up finish in the 400 medley relay, as the team of Isabella Perkins, Lotta Keitel, Irene Paris, and Charlotte Gibbs clocked a 4:01.14.
From there, Alessia Moro continued her early-season momentum, dominating the 1000 freestyle with a first-place time of 10:43.30, finishing more than 40 seconds ahead of the field.
Gibbs continued to impress with three individual victories, capturing the 200 freestyle in 1:54.22 and later winning the 100 freestyle in 52.91 — both among the top times in the NSIC this season - before finishing with the 200 IM title at 2:10.09.
USF added additional wins from Paris, who took first in the 200 butterfly (2:11.05), and Inn She Yap, who sprinted to victory in the 50 freestyle (24.91).
Moro rounded out the top Cougar finishes by claiming the 500 freestyle in 5:16.64, marking her second win of the night.
The Cougars closed the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay behind Keitel, Yap, Perkins, and Moro, finishing in 1:42.12.
Coach's Take
Head Coach Rickey Perkins praised the team's effort and mindset, saying:
"We were solid tonight. Our team raced hard from start to finish, and we had some fantastic swims across the lineup. We won several events and continue to see great progress from everyone. Over the next few weeks, our focus is on fine-tuning details and sharpening up for our mid-season meets."
