OWASSO, OKLA. – The University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf team secured a fourth-place finish at the Hillcat Classic, carding a team total of 640 (+72) across two rounds at Bailey Ranch Golf Club. The Cougars posted a 317 (+33) in round one and a 323 (+39) in round two, battling challenging course conditions in their spring tournament action.

USF came out strong in the first round, positioning themselves near the top of the leaderboard with a 317 (+33). However, the team struggled to find the same rhythm in round two, posting a 323 (+39) on the final day of competition. Despite the tougher second round, the Cougars had multiple standout individual performances, with three players finishing inside the top 25.

Key Coo
Avery Nelson and Maggie Veenendall led the way for USF, both tying for 19th place at +17 (159). Nelson was steady across both rounds, shooting 79-80, while Veenendall improved from 81 to 78 in the final round.
Tanna Phares followed closely behind, finishing 23rd at +18 (160) after rounds of 78-82. Abbie Ritzer finished at 168 (+26, 28th place), while Bryn Huber rounded out the scoring lineup with a 172 (+30, 41st place). Sophia Karsnia was solid in round one (79, +8), but did not compete in round two.

With a solid fourth-place finish, USF will turn its attention to the Hardscrabble Invitational at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Ark. These rounds will be played Monday, March 24th and Tuesday, March 25th.
