WAYNE, NEB. – The University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf team turned in a gritty performance at the Wildcat Classic, finishing sixth out of 14 teams at Wayne Country Club. Playing through challenging early conditions on a par-72, 5,863-yard layout, the Cougars improved significantly from round one to round two, posting a team score of 649 (+73) after rounds of 336 (+48) and 313 (+25).
Tournament Recap
The field averaged a score of 84.78 across the two days, with tough scoring in round one (86.87 average) and improved conditions in round two (82.68 average). USF's A Team responded well, shaving 23 strokes off their day one total to finish just outside the top five.
The Cougar B Team also showed growth across the tournament, placing 10th with a two-day total of 679 (+103), improving by 11 strokes from round one to round two (334-346).

Key Coo
Maggie Veenendall and Tanna Phares led the way for the Cougars, each finishing tied for 14th at +17. Veenendall shot 81-80 while Phares bounced back from an opening 83 to post a 78 in round two. Bryn Huber also cracked the top 20, finishing tied for 17th at +18 with four birdies.

Up Next
The Cougars will now prepare for the NSIC Championships, set for April 25–27 at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri. USF gained valuable experience on that course earlier this spring during the NSIC Preview and will look to carry that familiarity into championship week.
