Veenendall Wraps Season with Top-25 Finish at NCAA Central Regional

EDMOND, OKLA. – University of Sioux Falls junior Maggie Veenendall closed out a standout season with a strong showing at the NCAA Division II Central Regional, tying for 24th place at +8 over three rounds at KickingBird Golf Course.

Playing on a par-70 layout measuring 5,834 yards, Veenendall went toe-to-toe with the best in the region on a course that yielded a field average of 74.99. She finished with a 54-hole total of 218, highlighted by two superb rounds on the first day of play.

Tournament Recap

The tournament began Monday, May 5, where Veenendall faced a 36-hole marathon. She opened with a steady 72 (+2), carding three birdies to set the tone early. In the afternoon round, she improved with a 71 (+1), sinking four birdies and finishing the day at +3 overall—sitting tied for 14th of the 95-player field.

Tuesday's final round was postponed due to rain, pushing the final 18 holes to Wednesday. Despite the delay and a damp course, Veenendall closed with a 75 (+5), adding two more birdies to her total. She finished the tournament with nine birdies across the three rounds, ending with a score of 218 (+8).

  • Round 1 (Monday AM): 72 (+2) – 3 birdies

  • Round 2 (Monday PM): 71 (+1) – 4 birdies

  • Round 3 (Wednesday): 75 (+5) – 2 birdies

  • Total: 218 (+8), T-24th

Season Reflection

Veenendall's appearance at the Central Regional capped off a breakout season that included an NSIC Golfer of the Week honor, an individual tournament title, and a steady presence in USF's top lineup spot. She advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the second time in her career, representing the program and university with poise across all three days.
