SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Sioux Falls women's tennis team wrapped up its spring exhibition schedule Saturday afternoon with a matchup against University of South Dakota at Huether Family Match Pointe.
Facing a strong USD squad, the Cougars used the exhibition as a final tune-up ahead of NSIC play, gaining valuable experience across all three doubles courts and six singles positions. Several matches were tightly contested early, highlighted by competitive doubles play at the top of the lineup and a hard-fought three-set battle in singles action.
In doubles, USF pushed the Coyotes in a pair of close matches, with the No. 1 and No. 2 courts each decided by slim margins. The top pairing of Sofiya Janos and Chloe Siegfort battled through a tiebreak in a 7-6 decision, while Ella Hancock and Sydney Osburn kept things close in a 7-5 result at No. 2 doubles.
Singles play saw continued resilience from the Cougars, as Chloe Siegfort and Emily Thinnsen both delivered competitive performances. Thinnsen forced a deciding third set at the No. 4 position after taking the opening set, providing one of the afternoon's standout efforts as USF tested its depth against quality opposition.
With the exhibition slate complete, the Cougars now turn their focus toward conference play, carrying forward the lessons and momentum gained through a challenging non-conference stretch.
