MARSHALL, Minn. – The University of Sioux Falls men's wrestling team wrapped up its 2025–26 season at the NCAA Super Region tournament, competing against some of the top programs in the region and showcasing the development of a young Cougar lineup.

While USF did not advance a qualifier to the NCAA Championships, the Cougars saw multiple wrestlers make deep consolation runs, highlighted by strong performances from underclassmen that signal a bright future for the program.

165 – Luke Swanson Leads the Way

Luke Swanson delivered the team's top finish of the weekend at 165 pounds, placing fourth after an impressive run through the backside bracket.

Swanson opened the tournament with a 13–4 major decision over Northern State's Izaak Hunsley before dropping a quarterfinal decision to No. 19 Kole Marko of Minnesota State. From there, he won three straight consolation matches, including a 19–4 technical fall over John Armstrong of Minot State, a 5-2 decision over MSU Moorheads Mason Gode and a 15–10 decision in the consolation semifinals over Upper Iowas Nick Mueller to earn a spot in the third-place match. Swanson ultimately finished fourth after a tough rematch with Minnesota State's Kole Marko.

285 – Davis Fights to Fifth

Stetson Davis also put together a strong tournament at heavyweight, finishing fifth overall.

Davis opened with a 5–3 decision over Minnesota States Callen Smithpeter before falling in the quarterfinals to Liam Babitt of MSU Moorhead. He responded with consecutive consolation wins over Tyson Lien of Northern State and Evan Thompson of Southwest Minnesota State before falling to Wisconsin Parksides Cooper Caraway to reach the consolation semifinals. Davis battled in the fifth-place match but came up short to Babitt in sudden victory.

Key Contributions Across the Lineup

Several other Cougars battled through the bracket:

  • Jordon Oehme picked up a sudden victory win in the consolation rounds at 141 pounds.

  • Hank Meyer secured a fall in the backside bracket at 197 pounds.

  • Bray Skinner earned a consolation-round victory at 133 pounds.

  • Vincent Mayberry and Cooper Sanders each competed in multiple bouts, gaining valuable postseason experience.

The regional tournament featured nationally ranked opponents throughout the bracket, providing the Cougars with a high-level test to close the year.

With a lineup that featured several freshmen and sophomores throughout the season, USF gained critical experience in dual and tournament competition. The growth shown at regionals — particularly from Swanson and Davis — gives the Cougars momentum heading into the offseason.
