Career: Finished her career as a Cougar playing in 202 sets…had a career total of 61 aces which put her 9th all-time on USF’s single season charts… collected 293 digs with a career match high with 15 digs, and 5 service aces against Pfeiffer (9/6/13).
2014 (SENIOR): Appeared in 83 sets and 30 matches…recorded 112 digs and averaged 1.35 digs per set…she had a match high of 12 digs against St. Cloud State (11/8)…four matches she had eightdigs against Bemidji State (9/26), Upper Iowa (10/18), Catawba (9/5), and Minnesota Crookston (9/27)…served up four aces and collected eight digs against Bemidji State (9/26)… ended the season with 16 total aces, a 0.19 aces per set average…added to 13 assists, averaging 0.16 per set…had four total attack attempts against Minnesota Duluth in the first round of the NSIC tournament.
2013 (JUNIOR): Anchored the back row in her first season with the Cougars, appearing in 31 games and a total of 119 sets…was the best server and ace producer not only on the team but in the entire league, serving up 45 aces for an NSIC-best 0.38 aces per game average, thereby helping the Cougars finish the season ranked No. 1 in the NSIC in aces per game (1.69)…served up a career-high five bullets in USF’s 3-1 win over Pfeiffer…dished 23 assists, a 0.19 assist per set average...collected 181 digs (1.52 digs per set)…reached double digit digs on two occasions, with 12 against rival Augustana College and a career-best 15 digs at Minnesota State…had a trio of three-assist performances against Augustana, Minot State and Winona State.
2012 & 2011 (Central CC, SOPHOMORE & FRESHMAN): Named to the 2012 Region IX Division II Regional Tournament Team…defensive specialist who averaged 1.16 digs and 2.97 assists per set...also served up 18 aces...the Central CC Raiders were the 2011 & 2012 NJCAA Division II Regional IX Volleyball Champions…member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Dean’s Honor’s List.
HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Kathy Gebhardt and Carrie Portwood at Lutheran Northeast…the Eagles were 2010 Nebraska Class C2 State Champions…a two-time Volleyball Elite 8 award winner who garnered first team all-state honors as a junior…amassed 503 set assists and 92 aces as a senior…also played basketball and was the starting guard for an Eagles squad that took third place at the 2010 Class C championships…twice named to the Girls Basketball Class C Elite 8 team…a talented trap shooter who was named the 2009 Nebraska High School Overall Individual Ladies Champion and High School Handicap Individual Ladies Champion…won the 2009 Cornhusker State Handicap Championship (High Lady) and was the Nebraska High School 16 yard Individual Ladies Runner-Up in 2011…team captain and two-time member of the all-conference senior female first team…2010 NSAA Academic All-State selection for volleyball and a three-time academic excellence award winner for trapshooting…graduated with high honors and received the 2011 Pro Deo at Schola (For God and School) Award, which is given to a student who shows commitment in their academics as well as being a good Christian in the school and community…received the Distinguished Athlete Award from the United States Marine Corps.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Bill and Jane Wessel...has three siblings, Mickie, Tony and Jeremy...business administration major and management minor…would like to have a career that will allow her to have time for/with God and her family and will let her live comfortable enough to support her family and to be able to help others…favorite athlete is Jordan Larson…enjoys swimming, horseback riding and painting.
