Biography

Career
A steadily rising frontcourt force for the Cougars, Brandon Hrncir has appeared in 46 collegiate games with 27 starts across his first two seasons, totaling 977 minutes while averaging 21.2 minutes per contest. Hrncir has scored 471 career points at a 10.2 points-per-game clip while shooting an efficient 48.8 percent from the field and 82.2 percent from the free-throw line. He has also totaled 208 rebounds, 63 assists, 19 steals, and nine blocks, emerging as one of Sioux Falls’ most dependable two-way contributors.

2025-26 (Sophomore)
Hrncir took a major leap in his sophomore campaign, appearing in 28 games with 25 starts while becoming a key piece in the Cougar frontcourt. He averaged 13.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 82.3 percent from the free-throw line. He also contributed 50 assists, 11 steals, and seven blocks, showcasing an expanded all-around game.

He recorded multiple standout performances throughout the season, including a career-high 23 points at Minnesota State and another 23-point outing at Bemidji State, where he went a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. Hrncir added 22 points while shooting 5-of-6 from three at Minnesota Duluth and posted a dominant double-double with 13 rebounds against Minnesota Crookston. He also flashed his playmaking ability with a season-high nine assists against Peru State. His breakout sophomore season earned him multiple Dave & Buster’s USF Athlete of the Week honors.

2024-25 (Freshman)
Hrncir appeared in 18 games during his freshman season, making two starts. He played 234 total minutes, averaging 13.0 minutes per contest while scoring 100 points (5.6 per game). He shot 43.9 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three-point range, and 81.8 percent from the free-throw line. Hrncir also grabbed 47 rebounds, recorded 13 assists, two blocks, and eight steals while beginning to establish himself as a valuable contributor.

High School
Hrncir played basketball for the Tigers, where he earned Suburban All-Conference honors and developed into a strong prep standout. He also played club basketball for the Minnesota Fury, competing against high-level competition.

In the classroom, Hrncir was recognized on the Academic Honor Roll.

Brandon is the son of Naomi and Bryan Hrncir and has two siblings, Kyle and Blake.
