Drew Guebert

Drew Guebert enters his fifth season as an assistant coach with the University of Sioux Falls men's basketball program in 2026-27. A member of the coaching staff since 2022, Guebert is directly involved in all aspects of the program, including player development, scouting, recruiting, academic support, and the coordination of camps and team operations.

Guebert completed his fourth season on staff in 2025-26, helping guide the Cougars to a 15-15 record and an 11-11 mark in NSIC play. He played a key role in mentoring one of the conference's most explosive offenses, which averaged 85.5 points per game. Under his guidance, Brogan Madson earned NSIC Newcomer of the Year and First-Team All-NSIC honors, while Kyle Ingwerson garnered Second-Team All-NSIC recognition. The program also excelled academically, earning two NSIC Team of Excellence honors, two NSIC All-Academic selections, and four CSC Academic All-District honorees.

Before joining the coaching staff, Guebert spent one season as a graduate assistant with the Cougars. Prior to beginning his coaching career, he played professionally for two seasons with Basquet Menorca in Spain's LEB Plata (ESP-3). Over 55 career games, Guebert averaged 8.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 42.6 percent from beyond the arc. During the 2020-21 season, he averaged 9.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest while knocking down 44.1 percent of his three-point attempts, helping lead Menorca to the playoff semifinals.

One of the most decorated players in program history, Guebert will be inducted into the University of Sioux Falls Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026. He finished his playing career third in school history with 1,971 career points while averaging 16.3 points per game over 122 appearances, including 104 starts. He remains the program's all-time leader in career three-pointers with 264 and ranks seventh in NSIC history in conference scoring with 1,423 points.

A two-time All-NSIC selection, Guebert earned First-Team honors in 2018-19 and Second-Team recognition in 2017-18 while also being named a three-time Academic All-NSIC honoree and three-time NSIC Player of the Week. He became the first player in school history to make at least 59 three-pointers in four consecutive seasons and totaled 92 double-digit scoring performances, including 43 games with 20 or more points and six outings of at least 30 points.

During his four-year career, Guebert helped lead the Cougars to a 71-51 overall record and a 48-40 mark in NSIC play. He averaged 16.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from three-point range, and 81.1 percent from the free-throw line. He totaled 609 rebounds, made a three-pointer in 104 games, and started 63 consecutive contests to close his career.

Originally from Apple Valley, Minnesota, Guebert graduated from Eastview High School and resides in Sioux Falls with his wife, Jacey (Huinker) Guebert, a former standout player for the USF women's basketball program.
