Career
A young guard developing within the Cougar program, Marshall Smythe appeared in four games during his first collegiate season, totaling 14 minutes while averaging 3.5 minutes per contest. He scored four points on 50.0 percent shooting while adding one rebound and one steal, gaining valuable experience in his freshman campaign.

2025-26 (Freshman)
Smythe saw action in four games for the Cougars during his freshman season, providing depth in the backcourt while adjusting to the collegiate level. He scored four total points on 2-of-4 shooting and added a rebound and steal across limited action.

He scored his first collegiate points in his debut against Chadron State and followed that with another two-point outing against Peru State, where he also grabbed his first collegiate rebound and recorded a steal. His early appearances provided a foundation for continued growth within the program.

High School
Smythe competed in both football and basketball for the Titans, establishing himself as a well-rounded student-athlete. On the basketball court, he earned All-Conference honors after averaging 14.0 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game.

In the classroom, Smythe earned All-Academic recognition and was inducted into the National Honor Society, highlighting his commitment both athletically and academically.

Personal
Post-college, Smythe plans to either begin his professional career or continue playing basketball overseas. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends. He is the son of Toby and Bard Smythe and has one sibling, Jackson.
