High School
Zaharieva received many scholarships and honors during her time at Humanitarian High School for both her academic and athletic excellence. She received athletic honors from the Ministry of Sports as well as the Municipality of the city. Academically, she was awarded by the Ministry of Education. She also received the honor of Male and Female Athlete of the Year in the city. 

Personal
Her discipline as an athlete has carried over to boost both her work ethic and commitment in all areas of her life. In her free time, Kalina enjoys expressing her creativity through fashion design. She is hoping to grow as not only a student and athlete, but also as a creative and community-minded individual. She is the daughter of Elena Emilova Zaharieva and has one sibling named Petra.
