Biography
2012-13 (FRESHMAN): (spring) played in the No. 2 spot in all three spring appearances…finished 17th or better in each contest…tallied best two-round score (80-80) of the year to place 11th at the First Federal Invite (4/9)…matched career-low with a 77 in the third round of the NSIC Championships…finished t-16th at the NSIC Championships, the second-highest finish of any Cougar…(fall) appeared in seven competitions for USF…earned three top-20 finishes… her 88 at Augustana’s Bakker Crossing Invite (9/3) was good for 18th place…fired season-low round of 77 at Drury Shootout (9/11), which tied Rutherford for the best score recorded by any USF player last fall…recorded her first top-10 finish as a Cougars with a 87-92=179 weekend at the Bulldog Classic (10/15) where she t-10th…held second-best average on the squad (85.20 per round) as a true freshman…also responsible for two of the top three rounds charted by any USF player in 2012-13
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Castle View...four-year letterwinner for the Sabercats' golf and swim teams...tabbed first team all-conference in 2010, and second team all-conference in 2011 and 2012...voted golf MVP as a sophomore and senior...recorded top 20 finishes in three state golf tournament appearances, including a 12th place finish in 2010...career-low round was a 75...also the swim team captain in 2012...received the 2012 Highest Academic Athletic Achievement Award...was a member of Castle View's Interact Club, NHS and World Language NHS
PERSONAL: Born November 18, 1993...daughter of Dave and Eileen Swaney...Spanish minor...volunteers at her church youth camp in Brandon...outside of golfing, Sara also enjoys skiing...something interesting about Sara is she participated in a foreign exchange program and completed her junior year of high school in Paraguay, South America
