Coach Kevin Grebin

Kevin Grebin

Kevin Grebin enters his 26th season as the head coach of the University of Sioux Falls Women's Tennis program in 2026-27. One of the most respected figures in South Dakota tennis, Grebin has spent more than five decades dedicated to the sport as a player, instructor, and coach. Since taking over the Cougar program, he has successfully guided USF through its transition to NCAA Division II while establishing the Cougars as one of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's most consistent programs.

Grebin completed his 25th season at the helm in 2026, leading the Cougars to a 10-10 overall record and a 7-3 mark in NSIC play. The season culminated in the program's fifth consecutive NSIC Tournament appearance, highlighted by a dominant 4-0 quarterfinal victory over Bemidji State. Under his leadership, USF produced five All-Conference selections, including First-Team honors for Chloe Siegfort at No. 1 singles and the doubles tandem of Ella Hancock and Sydney Osburn at No. 2 doubles.

Off the court, Grebin has built a culture of academic excellence that mirrors the team's success on the courts. During the 2025-26 season, the Cougars collected six NSIC Team of Excellence honors, three NSIC All-Academic selections, three CSC Academic All-District awards, and two NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction honors.

A 2019 South Dakota Tennis Hall of Fame inductee, Grebin has guided the Cougars to five consecutive NSIC Tournament appearances, five NSIC Tournament semifinal appearances, and seven winning seasons in conference play. Since joining the NSIC, USF has posted an impressive 86-61 conference record and established itself as a perennial postseason contender.

Beyond his collegiate coaching duties, Grebin has long been a leader in the South Dakota tennis community. He spent several summers with the Sioux Falls City Recreation Department teaching tennis and served as the Director of Tennis at Minnehaha Country Club from 2001-10.

A Sioux Falls native and 1980 graduate of Sioux Falls College, now the University of Sioux Falls, Grebin was a standout student-athlete for the Cougars. He competed in both singles and doubles and earned All-District honors at No. 1 singles during his senior season. A multi-sport athlete, Grebin also excelled on the football field, earning All-League recognition and leading the team in tackles.

Known for his passion for teaching and developing student-athletes, Grebin has built a program centered on competitive excellence, academic achievement, and a lifelong love of tennis.

Kevin and his wife, Deb, have two daughters and six grandchildren.
