Griffin Osing

Griffin Osing enters his second season as head coach of the University of Sioux Falls women's wrestling program and his third season overall with the Cougars in 2026-27. After helping launch the program as its first assistant coach, Osing took over the reins in 2025 and continues to build one of the emerging programs in NCAA women's wrestling.

In his first season as head coach in 2025-26, Osing guided the Cougars to a 7-9 overall record and a 3-7 mark in conference duals. Under his leadership, USF continued to excel in the classroom, earning four NWCA Scholar All-America honors from Brinley Green, Rachel Burger, Johanna Steinlicht, and Kristy More, while Kylie Hulse was named a CorTrust Scholar-Athlete.

During the 2024-25 season, Osing helped the Cougars post a 6-1 dual record and send two student-athletes to the NCWWC National Championships. Zoe Adam qualified at 207 pounds, while Lanna Walter earned a national berth at 117 pounds as USF continued to establish itself on the national stage.

In the program's inaugural season in 2023-24, Osing helped lead the Cougars to a 6-3 overall record and four NCWWC National qualifiers. Teila Peters (130), McKenna Hendrickson (136), Brinley Green (143), and Zoe Adam (191) became the first national qualifiers in program history, with Peters recording the first national tournament victory in program history. The Cougars outscored opponents 261-154 in dual competition and captured three individual tournament titles, highlighted by standout performances from Zoe Adam and Brinley Green.

Osing joined USF in 2023 as the first assistant coach in program history following a two-year stint as head assistant coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Prior to his time with the Dragons, he served as a graduate assistant for two seasons with the Northern State men's wrestling program.

Before entering the coaching ranks, Osing enjoyed a decorated career at Southwest Minnesota State. A three-time NWCA Academic All-American and three-time NSIC All-Academic Team honoree, he qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships at 184 pounds during his senior season.

Originally from Minnesota, Osing earned his bachelor's degree in physical education and teaching from Southwest Minnesota State in 2019 and completed his master's degree in sport performance and leadership from Northern State University in 2021.
